Mapuru Housing Restorations

Client: Marthakal Homelands & Resource Centre Aboriginal Corporation

Value: $3.5M

The Mapuru Housing Restorations was delivered through the Northern Territory Government’s Homelands Housing and Infrastructure Program to provide critical repairs, maintenance and infrastructure upgrades.

The funding saw essential upgrades to 9 homes – including improved structures, replacement of old windows and installation of new windows for breezeway, shades, covered and sealed cooking areas, plumbing and electrical. Decisions about the project scope were made in consultation with residents to ensure the outcome reflected their needs and lived experiences in their homes. As a result, the liveability of homes was enhanced and in a better condition to withstand the wet season.

Jenarc offered solutions for remote construction delivery that prioritised competitiveness to deliver better outcomes for Mapuru's residents.

Jenarc is now working with Marthakal and the Northern Territory Government to deliver the next round of housing upgrades, aiming to achieve another positive outcome.
